B. Braun CEO Receives Distinguished Award

Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany

BETHLEHEM, PA (USA) B. Braun Medical Inc. (B. Braun), announced that its Chairman & CEO, Caroll H. Neubauer was awarded the distinguished Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his outstanding work in German-American relations. The Order of Merit is the highest tribute the Federal Republic of Germany can pay to individuals for services to the nation and is awarded by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Joachim Gauck.  In addition, Mr. Neubauer was presented with a U.S. flag, which was flown over the U.S. Capitol in recognition of receiving the Cross of the Order of Merit and for his “hard work in strengthening U.S.-German bilateral relations.”  The flag was flown and was presented at the request of the Honorable Charles W. Dent, Member of Congress.

“I am deeply honored to receive this prestigious award and U.S. flag, and to be recognized for my long-standing commitment to fostering strong German-American relationships,” said Mr. Neubauer. “I am keenly aware of the significance of building lasting and meaningful relationships from a cultural, academic, business and political perspective of these two great nations.”

Mr. Neubauer has been very active in German-American endeavors throughout his career and is currently the Chairman of the German American Chamber of Commerce, New York. He is a Board member of the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS) and is also a member of the Congressional Study Group on Germany, which is co-chaired by Congressman Dent. Mr. Neubauer completed his schooling in both the United States and Germany.  He earned a German Law Degree from The Albert Ludwigs University, Freiburg, Germany in 1983 and earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Georgetown University in 1987.
