Melsungen. B. Braun Melsungen AG, a leading supplier to the global healthcare market , has expanded the activities of its B. Braun Avitum Division relating to the care of patients suffering from chronic kidney disease by acquiring DTZ Dialyse Trainings-Zentren GmbH with its administrative headquarters in Nuremberg, Bavaria.

DTZ operates fourteen renal care centers in Germany, three in Austria, and one in Italy. DTZ has more than 30 years of experience in operating renal care centers as well as supporting the care and treatment of patients in cooperation with highly-qualified nephrologists and nursing staff in private practice. B. Braun Avitum willstrengthen its market share in the dialysis provider business with this acquisition. Worldwide, B. Braun Avitum now treats 25,000 patients in over 300 centers.

According to Markus Strotmann, member of B. Braun Melsungen AG's Management Board, the acquisition was the result of a good, long-standing, and cooperative relationship between the two companies. "We are pleased that the employees and patients of the DTZ will now become part of the worldwide B. Braun renal care network and that in conjunction with our current activities this complementing acquisition will significantly strengthen our presence.
