Programs for better care
In many regions of Cambodia and Thailand, medical equipment is not up to date, there are hardly any treatment standards, and nurses are often not trained well enough to do their daily work. Since 2017, B. Braun has been working with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) to develop continuous training programs for nurses to improve this situation. The focus is on safety for patients and health care practitioners.

Sustainable supply in remote regions
As part of the develoPPP.de program from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, both partners reviewed and amended the educational guidelines as a first step. Based on this, B. Braun worked with the GIZ to develop programs for nurses from 201 hospitals. In order to anchor continuous training on site, we have qualified 148 local trainers to carry out the individual modules of the program. A specially developed e-learning system helps to reach even remote regions. The results of the first few years are impressive: a total of 2,480 nurses have received training, including 425 classroom trainings and 1,057 in e-learning courses in Cambodia and 998 nurses in classroom training in Thailand. The program will continue to improve health care in the two countries on a sustainable basis.
